Home at last
31 hours.
From the time we woke up (4 a.m. Saturday Novosibirsk time, 4 p.m. Friday EST( to get ready to be picked up at the Hotel Sibir to be taken to the airport, to the time we finally arrived at our Auburn home (midnight, Saturday), we were en route for 31 hours.
The breakdown:
15 hours in flight
2 hours of delays, while sitting in plane on JFK tarmac, 1 hour outbound, 1 hour inbound.
9 hours of layovers
2 hours of travel to get to, return from airports
2 hours going through customs, passport control
1 hour waiting for Fran in the ladies restrooms.
I can't imagine what it's going to be like trying to travel back with one or two children, especially since we likely will bbe traveling from South Dakota, which is even further from Moscow than Auburn.
Both children are reasonably small. I wonder how much FedEx would charge us to just ship them overnight?
