Parents As Teachers Picnic

Here are photos from yet another picnic we recently attended. Though there are so many little parks and pretty "green" spaces in this city, this picnic — hosted by the Parents As Teachers group, which our children are still participating in — was at the same location as the adoption picnic.

It seems like I'm posting five photos at a time these days. May be an indication that I'm just not a very good editor, but oh well. This isn't work! I hope y'all aren't too bored with so many photos. By the way, I'd like to say hey to Quyen (I don't know your e-mail address!) and thanks for reading the blog and commenting from time to time. To address your comment about a possible blog for Dylan (and who would read it), the goal of our blog is to update our family and friends about what's going on with the children's growth and development and our family life. We're so far away from everyone on both sides of our family now that this has proven to be a great way for grandparents, aunts, uncles, dear friends, etc. to see what the children are up to and how they're changing. Though I do read some other adoptive family blogs, many of whom offer links to each others' sites, and while I know this is the Internet, after all, we just haven't put our blog "out there." We created it for family and friends.

To update about Anna's language development testing from Wednesday, we will have a follow-up visit to get the official results in about two weeks. The woman testing her seemed impressed with what she knows and, informally, showed me how Anna got some of the questions correct this time that she didn't the last time she was tested in April. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't qualify for additional help. That would be great news, of course, but I also wouldn't mind her continuing to get assistance.

Keep the pictures coming. That's what we all want to see. And it is nice when there is a picture of you and Mikel thrown in there too.

Love,
Mom

Definitely love the pictures, keep them coming -they make my day!
Thanks for the shout-out! my email address is quyen_carson@yahoo.com.
We got a nice hefty two step stool from Ikea and love it, so cheap too! Hauling Dylan up to the faucet was too much work, he is now 36 lbs!
Take care,
Quyen
