Home Improvement Observing

Anna and Alexander kept themselves busy earlier today overseeing a couple home-improvement projects. This is turning out to be a very busy week at our new home. This morning, three guys came over to remove some terribly overgrown (as high as 6 feet in some parts) juniper bushes in front of our house. They were here a couple hours chainsawing down the bushes and grinding out the roots. Now, Mikel, who has turned into quite a little Mr. Landscaper since we've been homeowners, plans to gussy up both the front and back of the home with a special design that includes stones/pavers/shrubbery/etc. His plans for the backyard include building the kids a sandbox! Also this morning, a man came to repair the stairs leading to our lower level. They were damaged by movers as they took our ancient and gargantuan television downstairs. The wood/furniture restorer was also here for three hours yesterday and will return again tomorrow to finish up the job. He ended up stripping and totally redoing the entire set of stairs, as opposed to just repairing the damaged spots. We put one of our baby gates to good use here since we're not supposed to walk on the stairs for a while.
