Buh, Buhhhlue

Anna has made impressive gains since working with her speech therapist once a week. Here they are practicing the sound of the letter "b." Jami makes a point to show Anna where the sounds come from ("g" from the back of the throat, for example). On Monday, Anna really showed off her vocabulary skills to her teacher when, at one point, Alexander starting talking too much himself and she said "Shush your mouf, Buddy." How embarrassing for me! The teacher probably thinks I say that to the children. But I don't! I promise! Anna picked that up from me trying to, in jest, really, quiet Shreve when he goes on a barking spell. Obviously, we really have to start watching what we say. Anna is already saying "darn it", a phrase which I thought was an acceptable enough alternative to the other "d" word. But it just doesn't sound nice coming out of her little angel face.
