Finally, A Place To Call Home

OMG!!
Twelve hours. That's how long it took a professional moving company to move stuff from our apartment four miles to our new home. ... But that's all old news now since, once again, it's taken me a while to update since the last post. It's great to be in our new home. We're still swimming in boxes, but we've made a serious dent. Our next priority is to paint the kitchen/dining area this week. Also in short order, we must purchase new furniture for our front room since the big screen TV had to go into the downstairs family room and, of course, the sofa and club chair along with it (we have to be able to sit to watch TV, you know. Not that we've had any time for that.)
I thought I'd been OK with the apartment. But having our own home again is infinitely better. So comfortable and bigger. And the kids love having their own rooms. Afternoon nap times (so far, anyway) have been much less stressful for me because the children go straight down. No more parties in the room once I close the door since they can't play off each other. Ditto for nighttime sleep. They've just adjusted incredibly well and, in fact, seem to prefer having their own room and their own playtime. Of course, they still have tons of together time. Every afternoon after their naps, we've gone onto the back deck for snacks.
We also enjoy nearly daily visits from wild turkey, deer and bunnies. It's very peaceful and quiet out here and a lot darker at night, which I know is an odd thing to comment on. But I just have a difficult time sleeping with any kind of light coming through. Speaking of which, the whole family is asleep now except for me and I need to join them. I'd been delaying any new posts ("Oh, I could be unpacking that box instead..") but told myself I have to get something up tonight, as I know that some of you are wondering where I've been.
In the meantime, here are a few pics of the children enjoying our big front yard, as well as eating an afternoon snack and exploring the sliding glass door on the back deck; tons of boxes in our front room; and moving day at the mini storage.
