First Birthday Party Invite

Anna received her first invitation to a little friend's birthday party. Ben has been one of our playdate friends ever since the children arrived here in America. He turned 4. I think most of the children at the party are probably his age because I know some of them are in his preschool class, so I suspect Anna may have been one of the youngest. Here they are eating cupcakes, playing games, pulling a pinata's strings (safer than hitting with a stick) and Anna enjoying one of the suckers she grabbed from the goodie fall.

Even though they rented the partyhouse at this cool little park called Storybook Island, I am relieved to be among friends who, relatively speaking, apparently believe in more modest birthday parties, who don't feel the pressure to outdo each other and give each guest $20 favors and spend thousands of dollars.
