Dog Days Of Summer

Here are photos of our outing to the dog park last Thursday and also of the children helping their father with his landscaping project afterward.

I'm writing this as the children "watch" Sesame Street, so hopefully I'll be able to get something posted here uninterrupted. This afternoon, we're taking Anna to get retested in her language development. It's something that had to be done, as she will be turning 3 at the end of this month. The speech therapy service she is currently receiving is through a state program that is only available to children up to 3 years old. If she continues to be in need of such a service after 3, then the school district will administer it, and she would have to get another speech teacher. I'll be anxious to see how she's doing. She is talking a lot and even now says very clearly says all four syllables of Alexander's name, except that she pronounces it "Alezzander." The standards of these test don't seem to be so much about how many words the child can say as much as the enunciation and such finer details. The Parents As Teachers lady who was here for a visit yesterday predicted that Anna would not need additional speech therapy. We'll see!
