Coexisting

Not a very exciting post, I realize, but I thought these were cute pictures of Shreve doing his best to get along with the children. I may have mentioned before that I've always thought he was a bit aloof, and that hasn't changed, but I guess he's come to accept that we're all just one big forever family, like it or not. He's good with children, as in he doesn't bite and will tolerate strange young ones giving him a little pet. But he's definitely not a big kisser or PDA kind of doggie, except with Mikel or me and usually only at the end of the day when he's tired or in need of some attention. Yet, he always stays close to us, especially when we're out at the park or someplace. When we're gathered at the table to eat, however, he'll be anybody's best friend. Usually, he doesn't like to lounge on the sofa while the children are climbing around on it, but on this day he decided he wasn't going to budge an inch for the children. Way to go, Shreve! You stand your ground!

Those pictures are so cute. You really have three kiddies now.

I think that Dylan is easier to manage than our dog Charlie-Girl. She is always begging for our attention, eating bibs and anything else that belongs to Dylan. She is great with him though, almost too much because if we'd let her she would probably lick him to death. In the last 6 mo. they have been really bonding. Dylan helps me fill her bowls and he loves to pet and brush her (she usually looks at me like, help mom!). I can't wait until he can start walking her, ha!
