Mom And Me
Overheard this afternoon down in our office, where there are displayed a few old family photos.
Alexander: "Look, Anna, that's mom holding you."
Anna: "Oh, yeah. It is."
Me, turning my head to see just what they were talking about: "No, y'all. That's Mimi holding me when I was a baby. That baby is me, not Anna."
Anna: "But Mom, Mimi looks as pretty as you."
Awww.
What a sweet thing for a daughter to tell her mommy. And a nice compliment to give her grandmother.
For the record, I always thought I had the prettiest mom.

That is so sweet. You have made my day. And tell Anna I will take that compliment and share it with you. I do remember that picture. That was in New Orleans at our first home. You were such a cutie pie little girl. Thanks for the memories.
That is sweet. Those were hard days, trying to make a living, but you gave us a lot of joy and happiness. You were 100% energy, that required 100% rocking you all night or letting you sleep with us. In the end you won out, we let you sleep close to us, which was so comfortable. Those were so good days.
