Pre New Year's Eve

The night before New Year's Eve we took a little overnight trip up to Deadwood, SD.

It's the same Deadwood you might be familiar with if you watched the HBO series of the same name, the infamous Old West gambling town where Wild Bill Hickok was assassinated while playing poker.

It's only about 45 minutes away. Still a gambling town up in the hills (the whole town is on the National Register of Historic Places, which is pretty cool).

Anyway, we didn't leave the lodge the whole time.

I took the kids swimming in the pool twice the afternoon/night we arrived.

The next morning when we left we took them snow tubing at one of the little ski mountains.

Actually, Michael took the children tubing while Shreve and I watched for a bit from the bottom of the hill.





















































Shreve and I got cold at the ski hill, so we went back to the car. Shreve kept a close eye on the gang.
