The Things They Learn At School
So I walked into the kids' bathroom tonight and caught Alexander taking a pee pee standing up. The thing is neither myself nor Mikel have taught him this. He said he learned it from school. He saw another boy go potty standing up.
I asked him which school — the Montessori school or St. Paul's (which is a preschool, but which I pretty much regard as a daycare with the bonus of teaching) ... not that it really matters, but I was curious for some reason (apparently it was Montessori, but I digress).
So, how about that? Until now, he's been sitting for all things potty and pointing downward when necessary. I never taught him how to go potty standing because he's not really tall enough and because of the whole bad-aim-factor-mess-thing I didn't want to have to deal with. But we do have two little step stools in the bathroom, after all, and I guess they do at school, too. Far as I could tell, his aim looked pretty good.
Who knew?
