Welcome Home, Daddy

Mikel traveled to Michigan two weeks ago to visit his mom and sister and her family. We all sure missed him and were excited to pick him up at the airport. Since Michigan is known for its cherries, he brought home some chocolate-covered cherries and sour cherry candies for the children.
A quick Alexander story: As you see in the photo, he's got his new backpack, which he insists on taking everywhere. In fact, he calls it his suitcase. And lately he's also been referring to himself as Paw Paw (my dad, his grandfather). Every time he has seen Paw Paw, he's been rolling his luggage around since it's always been during a visit. So, in addition to calling himself Paw Paw, he likes to drag his "suitcase" upright on the ground as if it is a piece of luggage with rollers, and he's been making me open the trunk so he can load his "suitcase" into the car, just like Paw Paw does. He even sometimes goes so far as to say such third-person phrases as: "Paw Paw's hungry," or "Paw Paw had a good nap today." Kind of cute, but also kind of disturbing!

Oh, I think Alexander referring to himself as Paw Paw is precious. Trust me, Liz has all sorts of "pretend friends." Oddly, enough we always have to be "quiet" because even though she doesn't take a nap, her "pretend friends" are always sleeping. Go figure!!
Hi, the kids are growing up so fast! They are adorable and I enjoy your photos and comments so much. I know your Dad loves his grandson wanting to be called Paw Paw! Too cute and shows a lot of personality and creativity. We are all fine and hope you feel better. Love to you all,
Aunt Barb
