Gettin Groomed

I got up early Monday morning to drop off Shreve for a day at the doggie spa (translation: nails, shampooing, combing, trimming, etc. at the veterinarian's office). When it came time to pick him up in the afternoon, I was forced to take the kiddies since Mikel was working. A lot of effort for five minutes inside the building, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The children looked so cute walking down the stairs with Teddy and Baby ( yes, those are the names the children call their stuffed friends) I just had to take a photo. The vet's office actually has a table for children to sit and play, which was nice while I paid for Shreve's new hairdo. This was actually the first time we've ever taken Shreve to a groomer, but I'm so glad we finally did. He's got a double coat of fur, which literally would take hours to dry with my own hairdryer. And it must be dried or else he could get something disgusting called hotspots. Plus he doesn't really like for us to much brush him unless he's allowed to gnaw on the brush, comb or other grooming tools. And it's pretty much impossible for us to clip his nails. His coat feels even more luxurious now than it ever did before. And the trimming around his legs and paws is fantastic, as I never did much of that. I wish we'd been doing this all along. And Shreve didn't seem too traumatized by his visit, which is one of the main reasons I'd always put off taking him to someone else. (One of our neighbor ladies gave this groomer a good recommendation -- and dog is her baby.)
