Last call in Novo

It's our last night in Novosibirsk, but more poignantly it's our children's last night in this region of Siberia where they were born. We'll spend four more nights in Moscow, and then they'll head to their new forever home in America.

Our plane, S7 or Sibir Air or Siberia Airlines -- take your pick on what you want to call it -- leaves at 10:35 a.m.

Today we took the children to get their visa photos. Yana showed her sweet face to the photographer. But, as Ruslan was considering crying during the photo shoot, his visa photo will forever show a furrowed brow.

We enjoyed our first family meal at a table this morning (Yesterday, we fed the children on the bed in our room.) Ruslan sat in the high chair and Yana fed herself while sitting in the regular chair. They both ate a lot: strawberry yogurt, some kind of warm cereal, cheese, bologna and juice. Not too many messes and no spills. Pretty good, we thought.

No spills, VERY good. So, you must have made it through the first night without any drama. Maybe you dipped into the Benadryl bottle a little prematurely.

But, seriously, ya'll take care and pray you have a safe and pleasant trip to Moscow.

Love,
Mom
