He's An Author

So on Saturday afternoon while it was snow storming outside, we were busy inside authoring books.

I totally got the idea from the children's school. Last week I saw they had this activity available for the kids to make at school, though for some reason mine either haven't yet chosen to make a book at school or have made books and just haven't brought them home yet. (For the most part, students get to choose their own activities). Besides the fact that they haven't brought home a book yet, the main reason I don't know if mine have done this is because when I'm there volunteering, I'm usually in a different area helping kindergarteners make their own books with an actual written story. But I'm sure I'm confusing matters by trying to explain all this.

Anyway, to make these, we illustrated three or four pages with Crayons and/or markers then simply glued the pages together to make a book. How cool is that? I had so much fun, and the kids did, also.

Here's Alexander's first book ever.

On the cover, he has drawn a great big T-Rex dinosaur and two blue jellyfish. (Both children wrote Mimi and Paw Paw on their covers because they plan to bring them down South to show off the books.) Alexander's second page is supposed to be a big rain (at least that's how he was starting off...it appears it may have morphed into something else); his third page shows spring flowers growing; his last page shows a rainbow.
