Swimming Lessons

The children finished their first week of swimming lessons Thursday. They enjoyed it and followed instructions reasonably well. After Anna's first solo jump in the pool (shown here in the video), she insisted on the teacher holding her hand and taking the most delicate of jumps so as not to have her head go under and risk getting water in her nose again. Alexander started out holding the teacher's hand, too, but by the end of the week jumped in alone.
The classes are only 30 minutes long and went by super fast. The children will have another week of lessons starting tomorrow. They practiced things like kicking on top of and under water, blowing bubbles, floating on their backs, diving from a sitting position.
Here are the images. I was the only mom taking photos and video (yes, I took the big video camera a couple days) and felt a bit self conscious about it. (But I had to get the news to report!)Because of the angle of where the children were sitting and where the parents were supposed to sit, I had to walk up a little to get anything passable. And I got scolded once by a lifeguard for being on the wrong side of the pool!

They are getting big. A happy family.
Love Dad
Do not worry about being the only mom taking the photos. They will only be little once so enjoy every minute anyway, it you did not then we would not be able to see what ya'll are doing and I love that.
Love Aunt Connie
I really think it is great that they do everything together.
And I agree, don't worry about taking photos.
