How Lovely Art Thou Branches

Throughout the weekend I did most of the decorating with ornaments collected from places we've visited. Most of them could not be replaced. Some of them are very heavy (the Waterford crystal ball we got on our honeymoon in Ireland, the heaviest among them). Our tree branches are not the strongest this year, so I placed most of those ornaments myself closer to the trunk. I couldn't not let the children do anything, though, so this morning they got to place the "filler" red and gold ornaments. They were very serious about it and actually did a great job! I think we only broke four of them, and I expected some breakage, especially since I tried not to hover and just let them go at it. As you can see, they clustered the balls all together! How sweet is that!

The look so happy and I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the Christmas tree cutting.
