You're either cute or you're not. A bow isn't going to make the difference

So on Monday, the caregivers at the Cherepanov baby home decided to dress up Yana with a bow in her hair. Yana was supposed to be getting her passport photos Monday and we think that's why they did it, but that seems sort of criminal. we all know how bad our driver's license photos are, and we actually have a choice in how we prepare ourselves for the camera at the department of motor vehicles.

This poor child had no choice. She got a big red bow on her head, as if she was some of Red Rider BB Gun all wrapped up and placed under the Christmas tree.

Not to mention that Yana is a little follicle-challenged for a 2-year-old, and so they had very little to work with on top, pulling the few strands on her Homer Simpson head together to use with the bow. They may have been better off just roping it beneath her chin.

This all begs the question: With this bow included in her passport photo, will they recognize her at customs now, or will we have to take that darn baby home bow with us and place it on her head until the immigration officials say "Oh, OK, yeah that's her. Hardly recognized her without the bow."
