Shreve Turns 5

Our first baby has turned 5. Happy Birthday, Shreve! Check out the video! He knew it was his special day! I never ever considered myself a dog person until we got Shreve. Isn't that weird? And nowadays I've been known to round up a neighbor dog if I see him wondering around on its own and I know the parents aren't home.

Shreve was just a cute little 5 pound peanut when we picked him up from his Michigan breeder. He was 8 weeks old and the son of champions. Because we chose not to enter that show-dog world we later had him neutered, according to our contract with the breeder. But I've always maintained that he's so gorgeous he could have been a show dog. Temperament ... may be another story. Now he's 54 pounds. Isn't he handsome?
