Bringing home the two children has truly given Mikel and Fran three children. It's probably been more difficult for Shreve to adjust than any of us. If Fran's on the floor with the children, he'll usually come over and kiss her and lick her so much that his teeth are inside her nostrils and then sit on her as if to say "She was my mama first." We know he loves the kids, but if we could only read his mind, we're sure he's thinking -- at least in the early days -- "Why couldn't I just continue being the only child?"
