Sand Volleyball

On Tuesday evening I took the kiddos to see their daddy play sand volleyball (can't exactly call it beach volleyball around here). We'd already had a long day, what with a little friend's birthday party in the morning, but it was a good little family time.

I'm guilty. Sometimes I drive through McDonald's and get the kids a Happy Meal. Way back when I said I wouldn't do that. Don't get me wrong. It's not like we do it once a week (though we unfortunately did it a lot when we were on our driving vacation recently). Maybe not even every two or three weeks. But it feels like the children are a bit too familiar with that clown Ronald McDonald. Sometimes they refer to this fast-food joint as Old Ronald McDonald's Farm or something along those lines. Once, I drove through one of those stand-alone coffee places and Anna said: "That doesn't look like McDonald."

It's probably just as well that Alexander dropped most of his dinner on the ground.

I had to include this photo of Alexander swinging. Maybe we should enroll him in gymnastics. This is what he does constantly if he's holding both mine and Mikel's hands.

Don't worry about those McDonald's cause you attended quite a few fast food spots and your daddy took all you kids and all mine to the drive in for ice cream all the time and look how you turned out so let them enjoy it. Love Aunt Connie
