Hey From Michigan

Or should I say "Hey From Nanny Pat's"?
It's our last night in the Detroit area. We're shoving out very early tomorrow so I'll try to make this quick because it's late and I need some sleep.
We've visited with Mikel's mom every day, his sister and her family some and a few of Mikel's friends. Yesterday we took the children to the zoo. Maureen babysat the children for us last night and we even got to have a date night (the Indiana Jones movie).
Tons of photos to post from here and even more left from our Chicago stay, but I'll have to get to them later. For now, here are a few shots of the children with Mikel's mom, who lives in a home that specializes in treating Alzheimer's patients. She was in great spirits during our visits and seemed to love the children. She really lit up when they approached and she loved holding them and just watching them color (though she made sure they completely colored in the picture -- not just half of it! ... maybe it's the old school teacher in her). And the children did really well with her, too. They weren't at all afraid of her wheelchair. In fact, Alexander liked to help Mikel push the wheelchair.

Sweet things. They looked real lovable with Mikel's mother. Glad you all got to spend some quality time with his family. Now, you need to schedule a visit down south to see your family. We miss ya'll.
Love,
Mom
